Hi!
This fall has been very busy, so I'm just sending an email to show that the list exist and maybe get some activity going. I'll start with a presentation of myself, and maybe you can write a short presentation about yousrself as well? Then we'll try to get a bit more activity going early next year. I and Mathias has started setting up a GitHub (https://github.com/canvasNordic), but I haven't had the time to upload any of my stuff yet (I want to add some documentation to make it understandable and useful for others before I upload).
Early next year I think we can have some Zoom-meetings, and I can do some presentations about scripting for Canvas (among other things what to do and what not to do).
So, my name is Tore Jørgensen and I was the one who presented first about scripting at the conference in Finland. I work at University of Oslo at Link - Centre for Learning, Innovation and Academic Development (sounds fancy?). I'm a developer/IT-guy, part of the leader team at Link, and has the responsibility for Link's work in and around the digital learning environment. I've worked at University of Oslo since 2008, and before that I made e-learning for 12 years. I've made a number of scripts for Canvas, some running on our site, some used by indivduals and some resting in the graveyard. My presentation page at the university is https://www.uio.no/link/personer/torejorg/index.html (you can jump to the english version in the left menu if you prefer reading in English).
Kind regards,
Tore B. Jørgensen
Hello!
I would like to follow up on Tore’s email and introduce myself. My name is Mathias Meier Nilsen and I work for the Norwegian directory of education and training. Primary I run a web-service called “kompetanse.udir.no” which is based in canvas. We approach canvas as a public lms where anyone can registrer and take our courses. To make this work we also sctript and change canvas a fair bit. My background is originally in statistics and state development, but I now work as tech lead for kompetanse.udir.no. In my work I rely a lot on sharing and creating spaces where we can share, talk about and reuse code. So this github and collective very interesting to me!
I also shared some thoughts and ideas in Finland, and I would always like to elaborate if anyone has any questions.
I hope we can continue with the github and sharing what we see if useful for others. I have added some rubyscripts to the github that a previous colleague of mine has used a lot. There is not a lot of documentation on the scripts however to set it up there is a good documentation in a google docs. It is linked in the repo.
Hope to contribute more and more in the future! And I look forward to some meetings where we can both cloud gaze into projects together and share ideas about making canvas easier to use for everyone!
I can be reached here or on my email: Mathias.meier.nilsen@udir.nomailto:Mathias.meier.nilsen@udir.no
Kind regards, Mathias M Nilsen

Thank you for inviting me to the list!
I used to be very active with javascripting for our Canvas installation, but I gradually floated over to the main domain of our organisation, still scripting, but now for the official pages.
But I’m still the administrator of the implementation of the scripts in Canvas, and hope to be able to do more for the Canvas team again. It seems though, that they aren’t so hungry for javascript solutions anymore. What about your teams?
It would interest me a lot to learn more about what you concentrate on now, and which plans you might have.
My background is HTML, CSS, Javascript, SQL and PHP, working on all of it on a daily basis since 1993 – or from when the technology was introduced. Had a break from Javascript for a while, but rediscovered it with amazement after the 2016 upgrade.
What I sincerely hope to get enough time to work with, are native web components, webworkers and maybe even webassembly.
As you understand, I’m pretty old in years – 63. My hearing is a bit degraded, and I mostly like to make microservices, but otherwise happy and 'fit as a fiddle'.
