Have a look: http://www.zabbix.com/index.php Might be some inspiration there. They are definitely better on documentation than NAV (it seems). Look at the manual that is downloadable from http://www.zabbix.com/documentation.php We should have something like that for NAV. Challenge is to get someone to write this... Also AMRES (Serbian NREN) has implemented a solution called ICmynet.
