Upon review of existing tools, we've chosen to add a 'wiki_link' attribute to each object that links to pages in our existing internal documentation wiki.
Thanks for the response Morten

Is there any efforts to add a "Wiki" or "Documentation" tab to
netboxes and rooms? I'm thinking of integrating something like a mini
wiki, like TiddlyWiki , in an additional tab for netboxes and rooms to
have field editable configuration notes, etc. - maybe with the ability
to store files to be associated with the device or room also (manuals,
configs, drawings, photos, screencaps, et al).

Looking to see if anything similar is being worked on, before I start
studying the NAV code and look how to integrate such.

Hi Corey,

there are no plans for this type of functionality, no. The closest
thing we have today are the more structured "attributes" you can add to
devices.

There has been several ideas to add integration points where a NAV admin
can configure links to external information systems - i.e. if you have
information about an IP device in a 3rd party system that can be reached
via a URL, NAV can link directly to that information. Same thing goes
for rooms, locations, interfaces, etc.

There's no issue for this on GitHub yet, but implementation wouldn't
take too much effort.

I think this is a more viable option than integrating a Wiki directly
into NAV.
