Hi,
When upgrading to nav 4.6 on Debian jessie the upgrade fails on non-systemd variants of jessie. The nav.postinst script should check whether it's running on a systemd or sysv-init based system.

Also, database update did not run from the postinst script - nav.postinst had to be hand-modified to force the schema update.

Apologies for my Debian ignorance (we're not Debian developers), but I did not know systemd was optional for Debian Jessie. The latest versions of the Debian package actually requires systemd, although it may not be properly signalled in the package dependencies.
If you have any pointers to relevant packaging information, please post a bug report against the Debian package at [1], with said information included. I'm not entirely sure I have time to look at this issue until the start of 2017.
