Actually, Debian recommends using aptitude for all package management, as a replacement for apt-get. Aptitude knows whether a package has been deliberately installed by you, or just pulled in as a dependency on another package. This means that it is also able to automatically remove unused dependencies as other packages are removed. -- mvh Morten Brekkevold UNINETT
