Good day! I've read guidelines for interfaces descriptions at http://metanav.ntnu.no/moin.cgi/SubnetsAndVlans , but still have some questions: 1) Does this URL is up to date (I'm using 3401 revision of NAV)? 2) Which way should I configure descriptions for switchports and router interfaces without ip addresses (trunk interfaces)? 3) Does NAV tracks interface description changes, or only when deleting/adding IP device to database? Thank you in advance. -- With best regards, Alexander Krapivin mailto:kaa@msu.net NOC MSUNET ICQ UIN:3967345 MSU, Moscow, Russia

Hi! I've found that there is no file wlan.gif in nav sources. AFAIK, it should be in /usr/local/nav/apache/webapps/qq/gfx. Please add it to development tree. -- With best regards, Alexander Krapivin mailto:kaa@msu.net NOC MSUNET ICQ UIN:3967345 MSU, Moscow, Russia

Machine Tracker does not report Module/Port for machines connected to CatOS switches, only the switch: MAC Switch Module Port Start time End time 00127959bbf5 molde-telerom1-sw.hiMolde.no 2006-03-30 16:10 Still active
Does the port in question show up in the switch port report?
Yes it does. It's the same behavior for all ports on all catos switches.
And Nav still reports that I have above 200 000 switchports. Vlan defined in one location are shown in the report for every location, regardless if the vlans are active/defined or not on all switches in every location.
I believe this is caused by a bug in the code which tries to determine the extend of private (i.e. vlans without a router) networks. Unfortunately this code was not tested well enough and it really should be disabled for now. I hope Morten can help take care of this when he returns.
