Here's the first in a series of new service checkers for NAV: a rewritten MySQL checker.

The old MySQL checker didn't work with protocol version 10. It also closed the connection too early, causing the server to shut it out after 12 attempts.

Usage is the same as before.

Since this is a complete rewrite, I've attached the full code instead of a patch. I hope this is OK.
