Install issues: Could not find the nav.startstop module

Greetings! I am on my third attempt of installing NAV 3.5.6 on a Ubuntu 10.04 server 64bit machine and have followed the Debian cookbook each time, but to no avail. Everything seems to install just fine, but when I attempt to start NAV it gives this fatal error: testuser@metanav-test:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/nav start Starting Network Administration Visualized: Fatal error: Could not find the nav.startstop module. Is your PYTHONPATH environment correctly set up? testuser@metanav-test:~$ Upon install, the PYTHONPATH environment variable isn’t initialized, but I have tried manually adding a python directory but still no good. Other paths that I have used are: $PYTHONPATH:/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/nav/ $PYTHONPATH:/usr/share/python-support/nav/nav/s Any ideas what the issue could be with starting NAV? Strange Python Errors after Upgrade to latest Beta

Hi List, I upgraded my 3.5.4 installation of NAV to the latest Beta (3.6.0b4) and ran into the error posted below. I configured NAV from scratch, updated the Database with the pgsql scripts and everything seems to be fine: I can login using a LDAP backend, see the welcome page and user information etc - but as soon as I click on 'Toolbox' I receive an error message. It thought it might be related to the 'ForgetSQL thing' but according to this list, ForgetSQL is not a requirement any more (starting with 3.6) - or am I wrong on this one? My system is Ubuntu 9.04, running with Python 2.5.4 and 2.6.2 installed. Announcement: NAV 3.6.0b4 released

The fourth beta test release of NAV 3.6 is now available for download at Launchpad, NAV 3.6.0b4: https://launchpad.net/nav/3.6/3.6.0b4 Beta testing is open to anyone, but please be aware, this code IS NOT production ready. If you wish to test the beta code, do so on a dedicated test system. Three of our own customers, in addition to our self, will be running "official" beta tests, so we have a good spread in the types of networks and devices we get to test the new code on. See the abovementioned URL for changelog and release notes. A binary package for Debian 5 (Lenny) will be made available as soon as possible.
