How to monitor traffic activity peaks ?

Hello, I would like to make a summary of periodic traffic activity (per month / per year). In the device port details, I can get only average traffic values on periodic graphs. For some reasons, I would like to record the number of maximum traffic peaks and what is the maximum peak value we got in a specicic period range. How can I do that ? (Treshold rules ?) Where does the DNS-button collect its data?

/ipdevinfo contains a button named "DNS" which shows all the IP-addresses connected to the device and their hostnames. I have one device which is correctly registered i DNS. Even so, the DNS info says "No addresses found". Why? VLANs on netmap
