I've fixed all the little python problems so far with my freebsd install. Everything seems to work now except adding devices. I have all the rooms and locations setup but when I try and add an actual router I get the following error: Error: pysnmpap.cli.error.BadArgumentError: Parser error at ObjectName: public: Malformed Object ID .1.3.6.1.2.1.public at ObjectName: invalid literal for long(): public Where public is the RO snmp string. RC2 and Java

I installed RC2 on Fedora Core 4 today, installed perfectly using the RHEL4 guide. However, I have this problem in the getDeviceData.log for each IP Device that it queries : java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: snmp/SNMPException at QueryNetbox.run(QueryNetbox.java:703) So I'm not collecting any data. Do you think the problem is Java 1.5 ? I have the snmp jar placed in the jre/lib/ext directory. IF Java 1.5 is a known bug then I will downgrade. Try to run the following command: Switch(config)#snmp-server chassis-id XXXXXXXXX where XXXXXXXXXX is the "System serial number:" for the switch which you obtain with sh ver. You must manually add this value to all switches in Cat 2900-series. Error adding particular switch

Below are the errors in the logs. The other logs don't have errors. One noticeable bug is that I can only add two instances of the "Cisco Catalyst 6000 MSFC2" with SysObjectID=1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.301 If I delete those two I can add two other of those, but can never add more than two. This is not a problem with other switches. We have a cat356048G which gets 'cricket-configed' to have a tempInlet, but Cricket complains with 11-Jul-2005 15:30:05*] Received SNMP response with error code noSuchName. I Routers will only show up in the traffic map once the links between them have been discovered. This process should be automatic with no extra configuration required as long as the NAV background processes are running (the getDeviceData process does the actual data collection). If you go to the 'Report' tool and select the 'Prefix' report, are your VLANs listed? Links between routers should be of nettype 'link' and the number of router ports ('antgw' column) should be 2. -- Kristian

The package gpg-pubkey-b481ca4d listed in the installation-guide is not part of the SLES9. I think the package that is ment is the "suse-build-key". But my problem now is that I have a nav3rc1 running on SLES, and everything "seems" to be running except web-interface and Alertengine. I have used the SuSE rpm package. And is trying to find whats wrong with the apache-config. I have tried to look at the http://svn.nav.ntnu.no/nav/navme/trunk/doc/apache/httpd2.conf.example But the apache-structer is totaly different from my debian-nav3-beta10 installation. [Nav-users] Software versions not retrieved for most routers and switches

In NAV2 I used the "Rapportgenerator" (Report generator) to get a listing of the software versions that was on my routers and switches. It was only the Cisco 1900 series switches that did not get listed with a software version number in NAV2. I also missed the sw version number data for AP's, but it seemed like there were no support for that in NAV2. This report was very valuable since I could get a listing of which boxes needed to be upgraded if there were reported some security advisory for a specific software version. But in NAV3 most of my switches is listed without software version. It is only some of the included types that lists up version numbers. This is the wsc5000, wsc5505 and the catalyst297024TS. One type that is included, cat4506, does not report the sw version (but that one also has a supervisor 5 card, not a "sup4" that is in the description). But I have many types of 2950, a 2912 and a 4510r that does not list the sw version. The "Wireless" report in NAV3 have a coloumn for Software but all my C1100's and C1200's and two Avaya ROR-II AP's does not report software version either. Postgres : unexpected EOF on client connection

The culprit seems to be alertengine, probably it is not closing its database collections properly (and this also seems to indicate it is opening a new database connection each time it polls the alertq, which is highly inefficient).
