Disabling a device in Seed Database - there is a way to disable device polling without deleting?

I wish disable a configured device from polling, Is there a way from Seed Database to achieve this without deleting the device? Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks Davide

Performance questions and weathermap

Dear NAV community We are looking for a network monitoring platform as a replacement to cacti/weathermap and I was wondering if there is information about performance/hardware requirement for a network with ~20K networks devices. Can NAV support this number of devices? It would be great if someone can share their experiences running NAV with large networks. Thank you! Announcement: NAV 5.10.2 released

The second maintenance release of the 5.10 series of NAV is now out! The source code is available for download at GitHub [1]. New packages for Debian 10 (Buster) and 11 (Bullseye) are available in our APT repository [2] as usual. We haven't started building packages for Debian 12 (Bookworm) yet, as NAV does not yet support running under Python 3.11. Do note that 5.10 is the **last series we will package for Debian 10** (not 11, as previous announcements read), as NAV 5.11 will drop support for Python versions older than 3.9. Please be extra aware of config file changes. Look out for `*.dpkg-dist` files in `/etc/nav` and make sure to update your running config. Business 350-8T-E-2G support in NAV versione 5.4.0

Seems that NAV (versione 5.4.0) does not full support switch Cisco Business 350-8T-E-2G. I get some box infos but - for example - port VLANs are not correctly get. LLDP data and neighbors are not correctly get. Someone use switch Cisco Business 350-8T-E-2G? Davide

navtopology is already running

NAV 5.9.1 Suddenly, since yesterday, a lot (but not all) of the navtopology cron jobs sends an email with "navtopology is already running" An example: /var/log/cron Apr 30 09:35:00 <hostname> /usr/sbin/cron[69867]: (navcron) CMD (navtopology --l2 --vlan) 10 minutes later an email arrives Date: Tue, 30 Apr 2024 09:43:35 +0200 (CEST) Subject: Cron <navcron@bjarne> navtopology --l2 --vlan navtopology is already running (69867) What can trigger this error? var/log/navtopology shows that the job runs as usual. Closing down our IRC channel

Hi everyone! We regret to inform you all that we will be closing NAV's official IRC channel on Libera.Chat by the end of this week. The IRC channel has seen very little activity these last few years, and it's harder to have the younger engineers on our team engage in IRC as a community tool. It seems I'm the only one from our team hanging around the channel, so by "closing" we really mean that I will stop paying attention to the channel, and the navbot will be taken down. Given the activity level of the IRC channel, we don't think anyone will miss it much.
