We are using some thresholds on some important uplinks and they are working good. But, is it possible to set a time-range to disable the thresholds? At night we are running a backup and then the thresholds gives an alarm, so it would be nice to disable that on those times.

no, not in the way you seem to want. You can use a maintenance task to withhold alerts for specific periods of time, but maintenance tasks aren't recurrent.
There is a really old issue in the issue tracker [1] about scheduling recurring maintenance tasks, but is hasn't received much attention, I'm afraid.
If you are really keen, you might be able to work up some magic with Graphite render expressions [1] to suppress values from your threshhold rule during given time periods.
