Nope, that fails with the following errormessage: "Error while talking to LDAP: User object was not found: (samAccountName:caseExactMatch:=<username>)"
Probably since AD doesn't understand the ":caseExactMatch:" syntax.
Another question to ponder is this: Is it possible, at all, to create two separate AD accounts, one with "foo" as the sAMAccountName, and one with "FOO" as the sAMAccountName? That would really make things ugly...
No, that isn't possible (just tested). AD uses case insensitive usernames.
