It's not stupid at all, you've found a bug in the newly rewritten SeedDB tool. I've confirmed it on my end and have reported it for you here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nav/+bug/735365

Hoping to get the next version out today, as we've had several other nasty bugs fixed since 3.8.2.
