Hi,
I have been using NAV for quite some time and I am really satisfied with the tool. So much so, that I implemented it at my new job.
That being said :) I have a question: the Netmap application is showing me connections that do not exist anymore. This means, they were once established, but have been disabled (I am talking about connections between two network switches, between which the cables have been removed and the interfaces have been shutdown) a couple of months ago.
Because the network I am managing is not very big, this is not a big problem because I know those connections in the Netmap are "fake".
This is, however, a bit annoying, and I would like the map to reflect the actual topology of the network.
So my question is: is there any way that I can force a redrawing of the map? Or a way to force nav to delete that connection from its database?
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,

That sounds great :-)

You didn't mention which NAV version you are using, which is somewhat important, given the recent changes in NAV related to topology. This also has an impact on how I would ask you to debug the situation.
Since you are mentioning links between switches, I am going to assume you are talking about a layer 2 network map.
Are both of the switch ports involved actually administratively shutdown, or did you just remove the connecting wire? If they are admDown, does NAV reflect that fact?
Are all of NAV's collection jobs for the involved devices running properly (i.e. they show green lights in ipdevinfo)?
What neighbor candidate data does NAV have for the two involved ports? (There should really be none if the ports are shutdown). Under NAV 4.8, you can get at this data easily by clicking the external link icon the Connection table in the ports' ipdevinfo pages. In earlier versions, you need to search for the device and port combo in the Neighbor candidates report.
