Types are intrinsically linked to SNMP sysObjectIDs, so there are no mechanisms for manually assigning types to non-managed equipment. If we were to enable such a thing, you would also need to invent fictitious sysObjectIDs that would never occur in the wild for your manually selected types.

Your best approach is to use the OTHER category and create a PRINTER subcategory to assign to these devices.

You can't. A unmanaged switch or hub cannot be detected by NAV nor neighboring switches, so there would be no automated means to discover its location in the network topology.

Question 3: Where I can change the netmap device icons? The device icon

is related to type or category? Would be great if it where possible to change the device's icon to reflect it's model.

The icons are related to category. They can, of course, be replaced, but icons for each model is not currently possible.
