Hello All,
New to NAV and really liking the product but we use SNMPv3 on our switches and we cannot see any support for v3. Is this supported or how do I get this working ?
Thanks
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Unfortunately, there is no SNMPv3 support in NAV as of today. It is, however, on our TODO-list - we just haven't had the resources to prioritize it much. See LP#1248094 [1] for details.
The underlying SNMP library supports SNMPv3 just fine, but NAV lacks a data model to store other types of credentials than simple SNMP communities.
Pär Stolpe of the University of Linköping has stated that they are interested in sponsoring SNMPv3 development, but are searching for co-sponsors. I believe Pär just left for a 5 week vacation, but I'm copying him on this, in case you are interested.

Hi!
I'm back from my vacation now. We are indeed interested in sponsoring development of SNMPv3 support in NAV and would be happy to see others contributing to finance the implementation.
We have just recently paid for implementation of the improvements for cabling and patches and are pleased with the result and the cooperation with NAV-developers.
/Pär Stolpe
