Hello,
On installing NAV3.1, the notes mention a new autodiscovery tool:
* Autodiscovery command line tool added to contrib. This tool will try to discover every managed network device within your network, and add them to NAV.
But, I don't see this on install. In the src directory, I see autodiscovery. If I try to build autodiscovery, I get:
linux:/data/projects/Nav/nav-3.1.0/src/autodiscovery # ant install Buildfile: build.xml
init: [mkdir] Created dir: /data/projects/Nav/nav-3.1.0/src/autodiscovery/build
compile: [javac] Compiling 2 source files to /data/projects/Nav/nav-3.1.0/src/autodiscovery/build
dist: [mkdir] Created dir: /data/projects/Nav/nav-3.1.0/src/autodiscovery/dist [jar] Building jar: /data/projects/Nav/nav-3.1.0/src/autodiscovery/dist/autodiscovery.jar
install: [mkdir] Created dir: /data/projects/Nav/nav-3.1.0/src/autodiscovery/ ${DESTDIR}/usr/local/nav/lib/java/autodiscovery [copy] Copying 1 file to /data/projects/Nav/nav-3.1.0/src/autodiscovery/ ${DESTDIR}/usr/local/nav/lib/java/autodiscovery [mkdir] Created dir: /data/projects/Nav/nav-3.1.0/src/autodiscovery/ ${DESTDIR}/usr/local/nav/bin
BUILD FAILED /data/projects/Nav/nav-3.1.0/src/autodiscovery/build.xml:54: Warning: Could not find file /data/projects/Nav/nav-3.1.0/src/autodiscovery/autodiscovery.sh to copy.
Is there a file, autodiscovery.sh, that is missing from the distribution? Or, am I just being dumb?
Thanks Scott

Hello, I am using nav-3.1.0, and installed rrdtool1.2.x, but as the installing note said, the py-rrdtool would not support rrdtool over 1.0, then I download rrdtool-python1.2.x, is that ok?

Now are all router-prefixes back in Nav. So everything seems fines. Thanks ;)
But there are still problem with some switches. Both my HP Procurve 2848 and HP Procurve 2650 have wrong number of ports, and vlan is missing from the switchport report. Some (3 of 6) Cisco Catalyst 2948 (Fixed Cat 4000 switches running catos) are reported with 102 ports.... But the 3 other 2948 switches are reported correctly.
vlan are missing from som switches. Can this be due to no activity on the swithes ?

Thanks for allowing us access to debug your installation. It seems your report.conf hasn't been updated in a while. The
swport report in
your report.conf seems to be a version that's over a year
old, and it
contains errors.
Hmm, I don't comment that one.... But maybe the installation script shall update config files to, with a warning for us to check if the new config files needs any update.... I usually check the files in the nav/conf directory, but I have forgotten the report/report.conf directory. Shame on me !
But now I have lost my router-prefixes for local vlans. The vlans are defined on a GSW box. You may take a look at /prefix report.
