Anyone know if/how NAV can read SNMP info? it look not like IOS or NAVos?

As long as it supports SNMP, it should work. Have you tried?

It looks like SG500 series has some ACL turned on by default, maybe this will guide you in the right direction...
If you want to enable snmp on your device, here’s a free tool which I have used it many years.
https://www.paessler.com/tools/snmptester
test it before you adding it into your system, really easy to use.

In light of what Espen and Bruce are writing, did you check SNMP connectivity to your SG500 when setting the SNMP community in SeedDB?
And, are you sure there are no active snmpAgentState alerts in NAV for your SG500?
