Jeg tviler p? at vi har resurser til ? lete etter l?sninger... Vi har, og vil f?, flere 2970, s? en l?sning hadde v?rt fint. Enn s? lenge m? vi bare droppe ? ha dem med i nettel.txt. Vi registrert dem, men kommenterer dem ut, til en eventuell l?sning kommer. La inn en ny switch i type.txt: cisco:c2970:ios-sw:Cisco WS-C2970G-24TS-E svitsj:1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.561:t:t Denne har 24 1000BaseT og 4 1000BaseSX porter, alts? bare gigabit. Den dukker opp under "switches" i cricket med "backplane" og "cpu" men disse samler ingen data ser det ut til. Men den dukker ikke opp under "giga-switch-ports" i det hele tatt. Flott at dette ble tatt opp. Vi valgt ? kj?re NAV p? Redhat fordi vi ikke hadde noen Mandrake maskiner fra f?r, men vi hadde derimot Redhat. Men denne standariserings tanken angrer jeg litt p?. Det er ikke s? lett ? holde en RH7.3 oppdatert som en Mandrake 9.0. Dersom det ikke blir avgjort noe rundt dette, kommer jeg til ? havne p? Mandrake ved oppgraderingen til NAV3. Forst?r det slik at de normalt ikke vil patche tidligere versjoner av programvare, men forventer at folk oppgraderer til siste versjon. Dette kan i mange tilfeller f?re til kompatibilitets- problemer med programvare som ikke er testet med nye versjoner av annen programvare. F.eks. en ny Perl, Java eller Jakarta versjon kunne f? et program som NAV til ? feile. Noen kommentarer til dette? Hei! Har akkurat begynnt p? konfigureringen av NAV installasjonen v?r her p? H?gskolen i ?lesund. For ? begynne litt forsiktig(?) har jeg s? langt bare lagt inn en boks i nettel.txt, nemmelig routeren v?r (Cisco 7200VXR). F?r en del feilmeldinger rundt om kring som jeg ikke skj?nner ?rsaken til. N? kan jeg legge til at jeg kj?rer NAV p? Hei Vi har satt opp en Nav-boks, men har problemer med at vi ikke f?r vist nettkartet. Siden vlanPlot kommer opp men det vises ingenting. Og s? har vi et annet problem med at systemet ikke finner rapportene under navAdmin. Vi f?r bare besked om at siden ikke finnes. COMMERCIAL MARKET & STRATEGY NMMG's initial marketing strategy revolves around licensing intellectual property (IP) to worldwide manufacturers of LED display products and components. The LED sign market is projected to reach over 1 billion dollars by 2006. Lumiled's projects that high brightness LED's, used in LED signs alone, will exceed 1.2 billion by 2007. If these projections hold, the fully manufactured signs would represent a $5 billion market. Whichever number is accurate, they both point towards a robust market for these new LED displays. Many projections don't take into account emerging high growth applications such as the Amber Alert project, Homeland Security and roadway intelligent message transfer. THE MARKET An article in Media Post's Media Daily News in March of 2003 noted that the outdoor industry has successfully weathered the recession and that our large members say they're having a great first quarter in 2003. They go on to note that technology is expected to transform both the display and measurement of outdoor advertising. According to Media Daily the most exciting news is coming on the display side, where Lamar Advertising is converting their key boards to LED units whose messages can be changed at will and sold in day-parts by the hour or even the minute. They added that Clear Channel's backlit subway panels in stairwells are being converted to LED as well. Together these companies represent two of the three largest outdoor US advertisers. Recent Federal Government legislation has also placed a spotlight on expanding the Amber Alert network nationwide. The highly publicized success in locating a number of kidnapped children shortly after their abduction in California has now triggered federal funding for U.S.-wide expansion of these variable-message signs. Homeland Security issues have also increased the number of early warning signs being planned and funded as part of an overall information sharing network. Traffic safety is also becoming a much higher priority in the U.S.. It is estimated that just over 60,000 roadway dynamic message signs are in operation in the United States. In Japan alone there are over 1.5 million of these signs. The United States represents a huge growth market for LED displays. GROWTH OPPORTUNITES In addition to the outdoor television market, another interesting and exciting application for OnScreen arrays is artistic lighting in dramatic curved and shaped displays in places like Las Vegas, New York City or really virtually any venue. The tensile, flexible structure of OnScreen provides unlimited opportunity for creativity. The anticipated cost reductions of OnScreen will also provide ample opportunity for growth of the large-scale LED display market itself.
