The package gpg-pubkey-b481ca4d listed in the installation-guide is not part of the SLES9. I think the package that is ment is the "suse-build-key". But my problem now is that I have a nav3rc1 running on SLES, and everything "seems" to be running except web-interface and Alertengine. I have used the SuSE rpm package. And is trying to find whats wrong with the apache-config. I have tried to look at the http://svn.nav.ntnu.no/nav/navme/trunk/doc/apache/httpd2.conf.example But the apache-structer is totaly different from my debian-nav3-beta10 installation. [Nav-users] Software versions not retrieved for most routers and switches

In NAV2 I used the "Rapportgenerator" (Report generator) to get a listing of the software versions that was on my routers and switches. It was only the Cisco 1900 series switches that did not get listed with a software version number in NAV2. I also missed the sw version number data for AP's, but it seemed like there were no support for that in NAV2. This report was very valuable since I could get a listing of which boxes needed to be upgraded if there were reported some security advisory for a specific software version. But in NAV3 most of my switches is listed without software version. It is only some of the included types that lists up version numbers. This is the wsc5000, wsc5505 and the catalyst297024TS. One type that is included, cat4506, does not report the sw version (but that one also has a supervisor 5 card, not a "sup4" that is in the description). But I have many types of 2950, a 2912 and a 4510r that does not list the sw version. The "Wireless" report in NAV3 have a coloumn for Software but all my C1100's and C1200's and two Avaya ROR-II AP's does not report software version either. Postgres : unexpected EOF on client connection

Hello ! I've installed NAV 3.0-rc1, and i have a postgres problem with too many postgres processes, eg : postmaster: navwrite manage 127.0.0.1 idle (postgres) postmaster: navwrite manage 127.0.0.1 idle (postgres) postmaster: navwrite navprofiles 127.0.0.1 idle (postgres) postmaster: navwrite manage 127.0.0.1 idle (postgres) postmaster: navwrite navprofiles 127.0.0.1 idle (postgres) postmaster: navwrite manage 127.0.0.1 idle (postgres) postmaster: navwrite navprofiles 127.0.0.1 idle (postgres) When i have more than 30-35 processes, then NAV stops working, and i have to stop and start the database. The culprit seems to be alertengine, probably it is not closing its database collections properly (and this also seems to indicate it is opening a new database connection each time it polls the alertq, which is highly inefficient). This format has also been made the default in the latest subversion release due to the problems users have experienced with BerkleyDB. -- Kristian

It assumes you are running tomcat, the cricket front end and the NAV frontend on the same server. This could be a bit inflexible for some installations. The hostname is defined on the line server = req.server.server_hostname which extracts the hostname from the current http request. You can modify this line so it suits your needs. However, this hostname is used for vPServerURL, lastURL, cricketURL and netflowURL. If you want different hostnames for only some of them, you have to modify how the params are defined. I probably should move all this out to a config file some day. Also note that you have to restart apache after you have made your changes to ensure mod_python reloads the new file. I'm running nav3 on debian-sarge and found the file under locate vlanPlot.py /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/nav/web/pyproxy/vlanPlot.py /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/nav/web/pyproxy/vlanPlot.pyc /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/nav/web/pyproxy/vlanPlot.pyo I made a copy of the original file and tried to do some changes here, but no success.
