Bandwith usage not showing on some Cisco switches.

Hi. This may be a stupid question, but I am experiencing a strange problem in NAV, where only about a third of the links on our core router shows up with any usage, the rest comes up as if there is no traffic there at all. One other switch on the network shows usage towards all other switches, but the rest of the switches on our network shows no usage whatsoever. The easiest way to see this, is when I look at the network map, and find most of the links gray, while some are green. This is a fairly new install (only a few days old,) so I may have missed some of the documentation, but I can't seem to find anything on this problem. Our goal is, among other things, to monitor for any congestions, so the map could prove useful for those purposes. Any ideas of what I might be doing wrong? Asset tracking features in NAV

One of the features we particularly wanted from NAV is asset tracking. Am I right that these features are going to be dropped from NAV? All I really want is some way for NAV to keep track of switches in the store cupboard (both new and recycled), as well as those on the network. I don't think we are ever likely to use any features beyond that. If this feature area is to be dropped, would be be possible to add an "inactive" check box to the main Seed database/IP Devices/Add screen? Email problems after upgrade

Hi, NAV has been running on a Debian machine flawlessly for a while, but after I did a "aptitude update" and "aptitude upgrade" I ran into some problems. The updated NAV package warned me that I needed to edit in the db password manually, which I did. Firstly I had to point apache into the right directory to get the webpage to work again. It seems to work properly. It detects devices going up and down and updates statuses on the frontpage/status page and logs per device seem fine as well. So as far as I can tell the database is working as it should as well as all the background processes. Email alerts does not work though. Apparently the addresses are blacklisted according to the alertenginge.log, but I can't find any place where email addresses are blacklisted. New alert adresses also get blacklisted. From what I can see in our mailserver log, the mail alerts never get there, which is understandable since it looks like there is some setting in NAV somewhere that stop alerts from being sent. Here is an example from the log. [2009-07-27 00:48:19,368] [WARNING] [pid=5403 nav.alertengine.alertaddress.send] Not sending alert 4927 to xxxx(a)example.com as handler Email is blacklisted (Email address edited out) alertengine.err.log is empty. Email from Cron daemon works fine. I tried changing the mailserver in the alertengine.conf file, but that did not change anything. I am lost here. Anyone have any pointers? __init__.pyc not publishable - trying to get NAV to go

I'm trying to get NAV to go, on Debian this time. It all seemed to be going well, but when I try to get the nav login page I get 403 forbidden. In the apache logs I can see: [Thu Aug 06 14:09:14 2009] [warn] [client 147.143.1.98] Cannot publish nav in /nav because <module 'nav' from '/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/nav/__init__.pyc'> is not publishable Unfortunately, I can't see what to do at the moment. Any pointers would be appreciated. Hello, I just installed Nav 3.5.3 from source on a Debian 5 (Lenny), following the steps described in http://metanav.uninett.no/installing_from_source_on_debian.
